Selection of Inclusive students to Special Olympic
We are honored to share the great news of selection of inclusive students of Mehnaz Fatima Educational & Welfare Organization to special Olympics to be held in Austria in March 2017.
Hameez and Tehmina along with their trainer/Physical Education teacher left for Austria on March 10, 2017. A simple event was organized to see off the students at MFEWO campus in which parents of the students and BoD members participated.
This is the third time that students from MFEWO have been participating in special Olympics. The participants selected after going through a rigorous training and selection process initiated by the Special Olympics Pakistan SOP at national level.
This selection has greater meaning to the parents of inclusive children, to the inclusive children across the GB and to the mission of MFEWO. This is a message to all to understand the disability as “Different Ability”.
The selection of the students strengthens our belief that differently able children can achieve the best if provided with the required environment and training.

The delegation on behalf of Mehnaz Fatima Educational Welfare Organization in the supervision of Mr. Ghulam Abbas Management Consultant MFEWO with other responsible team members Mr. Amanullah CICD Coordinator and Mr.Khadim Ali Hassan Consultant PHYSIO Initiated exploratory meeting with legislative council through Deputy Speaker for Inclusion of differently able people in GB and also facilitate to initiate legislation for main streaming of the differently able people in GB, A fruitful valuable meeting was held at office of the Deputy Speaker with Honorable Deputy Speaker GB assembly Mr. Jafarullah regarding issues and challenges about children with disability also developed linkages with government level to promote inclusive education in Gilgit Baltistan.
The productivity of meeting discussion points as below.
- Orientation about Mehnaz Fatima Educational and Welfare Organization and Community Intervention for Children with Disability project achievements and challenges
- How to harmonized efforts of MFEWO and Govt. regarding rehabilitation.
- Development of cooperation for Expansion of CICD project in new areas.
- How to developed cooperation to promote inclusive education in Govt. schools.
- Development of cooperation about initiation of legislation at GB level for inclusion of differently able people.

Emphasizing Reading Culture in School
The School is emphasizing on a neglected learning area “Reading habit” in students.
Rehabilitation services!
Mehnaz Fatima has started rehabilitation services in evening shift of school for all children including inclusive to develop their hidden potentials. Well known artist from “HunarKadah” Islamabad, Mr. Deedar Ali Khan is taking art classes. A famous artist of Gilgit Art Council and one of the talented Keyboard players of Gilgit Baltistan Mr. Amin Khan is taking classes of music.
After these classes students are practicing for academic excellence in supervision of qualified teaching staff of MFEWO.
Orientation Session for Parents!
Mehnaz Fatima Montessori and Inclusive Education Centerarranged orientation session for parents of newly admitted children on February, Saturday 18, 2017. Objectives of the session remained;
- To introduce parents about activities of the MFEWO( focusing MFM&IEC)
- To introduce parents about inclusive education
- To inform parents about the importance of parental involvement in child’s development
- To inform parents about importance of reading habits and value formation of students
- To get signed declaration form by parents
Most of the parents of newly were present in this orientation session. The Parents appreciated the efforts of Mehnaz Fatima Educational and Welfare Organization in terms of value formation, inclusive education and rehabilitation services. The session remained successful.
One of parents Mr. Karamat Ullah has generously donated story books for Montessori section. Another parent Mr. Raja Muzaffar has donated plants for school campus.

Mehnaz Fatima Educational and welfare organization extends its gratitude towards the members; Dr.Shams Ur Rahman for Maths, Mr. Ijlal Hussain for Physics, Mr. Muhammad Ali for Economics, Mr. Maqsood for Economics, Mr. Ijlal Hussain and Ms.Filza Liaqat for Pak. Studies/IR of Friends Club for supporting the recruitment process of teachings staff. Friends club members helped in paper construction and making.
Subject Teacher’s written test is going on.
Written Test for subject teachers is going to be held on 23 Feb. 2017 at 3:00 pm in Mehnaz Fatima Educational and Welfare Organization Jutial Gilgit.
